The specially formulated adhesive provides the sharpest paint line on a variety of surfaces, including mouldings, plastic, glass, metal, rubber and painted surfaces. This painter’s tape provides clean removal without slivering for up to two days of outdoor exposure, and longer for indoor exposure. 3M™ Performance Automotive Masking Tape also has excellent Transfer resistance, resistance to paint bleed-through, good adhesion to steel (0.27 n/m width), good tensile strength (1.8 n/m) and good temperature resistance up to 121 ºC for up to 30 minutes. 233+ has better UV resistance than traditional masking tapes and performs consistently under a variety of climactic conditions. It is available in various sizes packaged in bulk and individually wrapped rolls.

Main applications

tesa^® 4308 is a smooth crepe paper masking tape with a natural-rubber adhesive, which has been developed especially for highly demanding masking applications in the automotive aftermarket and transportation industries. The automotive adhesive tape is suitable for masking during spray painting with subsequent oven drying, resisting temperatures up to 110°C. tesa^® 4308 can be used either with 2-component or water-based paints. The backing resists bleed-through of paint and is highly conformable and flexible. The masking tape features excellent adhesive properties on different substrates, such as metal, rubber, glass and plastic as well as high tack and good quick adhesion. tesa^® 4308 can be removed easily without leaving any residue and leaves clean paint results with good paint edges.
